Production/Scrap Metal Processor

As Utah’s premier metal recycling center, our experience is second to none; and over the years we have worked with thousands of customers, from local residents with a few pounds of cans to large companies with truckloads of scrap material. Metro’s Non-Ferrous department is currently seeking a Scrap Metal Processor

 

  • Identifies and sorts different types of materials, must be able to pass the Metals Identification Course
  • Able to operate small equipment, like a forklift, wire striper, metals cutters, etc.
  • Must be courteous and patient with employees and customers.
  • Able to be a team contributor and be able to work on your own.
  • Helps with housekeeping/including sweeping during down times
  • Must be able to fill weekly weight quota’s
  • Able to work in the heat of the summer and cold of the winter
  • Responsible for observing and following all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Is responsible for timely, understandable, legible and accurate paperwork.
  • Must be willing to fill other tasks when needed by supervisor

Ferrous Scrap Cutter

Metro Group, Inc. is currently seeking Ferrous Scrap Cutters to join our organization. This position has room for many opportunities for growth within the company.  A positive attitude and be able to work independently, as well as a team.

 

  • Cuts ferrous materials into sizes desirable for end users
  • Identifies non-ferrous materials and sorts it out.
  • Safely and efficiently operates cutting torch/welders
  • Helps with housekeeping during down times
  • Will be out in the different weather conditions
  • Responsible for observing and following all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Is responsible for timely, understandable, legible and accurate paperwork.
  • Must be willing to fill at other tasks when needed and Performing only those jobs on which they have been trained
