This is a general list of metal items we may accept for recycling. There are many different types of metal, and what we take can vary depending on the item, material, and condition. This list serves as a guideline, but it’s subject to change.
By state law, everyone must show a valid ID when recycling metal, so please have yours ready when you visit.

We recommend recycling your refrigerator at Wasatch Metal Recycling, where they accept refrigerators for a $20 fee for removing the freon for you. This fee is deducted from your total scrap value, so you’ll still walk away with cash in hand.
If you’d prefer to bring your refrigerator to us, the freon or refrigerant must be removed by a certified EPA 608 technician before drop-off and a signed document verifying the removal is required.

We accept circuit boards for scrap. They are graded upon arrival based on metal recovery value.

Industrial & Commercial Equipment
We accept compressors, but they must be opened to the size of a fist to verify they are no longer pressurized. All fluids must be drained before recycling.
Chillers contain different types of metals and must be completely drained before we accept them. A buyer will review them before purchase.
Brite tanks are accepted as long as they have an opening and are completely empty.
We recommend taking tractors to Wasatch Metals first, as they can assist you in obtaining a dismantler’s permit from the state if needed.
We do accept tractors, but if they have a VIN, you must have a dismantling permit at the time of drop-off. If the tractor never had a VIN, the title must be submitted to the state to obtain a dismantler’s permit (TC-656) before bringing it to us.
We accept metal barrels as long as they are completely empty and have the top cut off.

We recommend taking cars to Wasatch Metals first, as they accept vehicles with just the title and can assist you in obtaining a dismantler’s permit.
We do accept cars, but a dismantling permit is required at the time of drop-off. The title must be submitted to the state to obtain a dismantler’s permit (TC-656) before bringing it to us.
